    Friday, April 14
    Firefighters were dispatched at 12:30 p.m. to the 7700 block of Old Highway 169 Boulevard. A boy, 15, was injured in a tractor accident. He was airlifted to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    Monday, April 10
    A man came to the police station at 12:33 p.m. to report that while some work was being done on his car, the noticed one of the license plates was stolen.
    Tuesday, April 11
    A person on the 600 block of West Main Street called for medical help at 7:30 a.m. A child was transported to an area hospital by a parent.
    A person on the 400 block of South Chestnut Street reported at 7:34 a.m. a man sleeping in the hall of an apartment building. The man was awakened and arrested on a Carver County arrest warrant.
    A property-damage crash on the 100 block of South Eagle Street was reported at 1:14 p.m. Police said a driver backed out of a driveway and into an oncoming car.
    A property-damage crash in a parking lot on the 300 block of East Enterprise Drive was reported at 2:30 p.m. A truck pulled out and hit a car that was driving along side of him that he could not see.
    Wednesday, April 12
    Police responded at 7:25 a.m. to a report of a compost pile on Union Trail igniting. Public Works responded and put dirt on the pile, extinguishing the fire.
    A person on the 100 block of North Aspen Lane reported property damage at 8:53 a.m. Four boys damaged two toilets in the men’s bathroom. Police obtained video of the boys. They are investigating.
    A boy at the junior-senior high school in possession of tobacco was cited at 9:21 a.m.
    A person on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 6:16 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.
    Thursday, April 13
    A boy on the 200 block of South Eagle Street was cited at 4:11 p.m. for the theft of a man’s bike.
    A person on the 800 block of West Prairie Street reported at 4:40 p.m. the theft of personal items. The victim believes people who came to assist the resident stole the items. Police are investigating.
    Friday, April 14
    A person on the 700 block of Butler Drive reported overnight vandalism at 10:30 a.m. His house had been egged and TP’d. The homeowner was able to cleanup the mess.
    A person on the 600 block of West Court Street reported a burglary. Someone apparently entered a home through an unlocked window and stole electronic items. The loss is valued at $775. Police are investigating.
    Saturday, April 15
    A person on the 200 block of West Church Street reported at 1:18 a.m. an inebriated man trying to enter a house that was not his. The man was located and the gaffe noted. A sober friend gave the man a ride home.
    A person on the 100 block of East Church Street reported at 3:02 p.m. a man came to his house and threatened to beat him up. The potential attacker left when another person arrived at the house. The man asked police to issue the aggressor a no-trespassing warning.
    A person on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 3:29 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 300 block of South Walnut Street called for medical help at 2:10 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    The week of April 3-9, Belle Plaine police responded to the following selected calls:

     

    Monday, April 3

    At 9:48 a.m., a person on the 200 block of Buffalo Street called for medical help. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Damage to a city park on the 200 block of South Eagle Street was reported at 1:23 p.m. Public Works was informed of broken concrete blocks and light fixtures that appeared to have been vandalized. The loss is estimated at $200.

    A man from Faribault was stopped near the intersection of South Elm Street and East Prairie Street at 1:54 p.m. The man, 39, was cited for driving with a suspended license.

    A Belle Plaine woman on the 100 block of North Aspen Lane was stopped at 6:54 p.m. The woman, 30, was cited for driving after license revocation.

    A person on the 500 block of West Forest Street called for medical help at 7:05 p.m. A girl was transported to an area hospital.

    Tuesday, April 4

    A person near the intersection of North Meridian and Church streets called for medical help at 5:43 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Wednesday, April 5

    A two-car property-damage crash at the intersection of West Main and North Willow streets was reported at 3:22 p.m. One car pulled out and began to drive through the intersection before the other car had cleared, hitting him in the rear panel and spinning the car partway around. One driver, a 17-year-old boy from Belle Plaine, was cited for having no proof of insurance.

    Thursday, April 6

    A student at a school on the 200 block of South Market Street reported at 6:56 p.m. the theft of a school-issued iPad. The device was reportedly taken from the student’s desk. Police are investigating.

    Friday, April 7

    A boy, 17, at a school on the 200 block of South Market Street was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were notified of the issue at 2:50 p.m.

    Saturday, April 8

    A person on the 700 block of O’Brien Parkway reported at 8:17 a.m. a theft. A man said his roommate took a large container of change when he moved out. Police are investigating.

    A person on the 900 block of South Walnut Street called for medical help at 9:01 p.m. The victim declined transport to an area hospital.

    Sunday, April 9

    A person on the 800 block of West Church Street reported property damage and the theft of a laptop computer at 2:52 a.m. Police are investigating.

    Firefighters responded at 4:30 p.m. to a fire alarms sounding at a house on the 100 block of South Elm Street. False alarm.

    Sunday, April 2

    Firefighters were dispatched at 3:40 a.m. to a report of a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at a house on the 300 block of South Willow Street. The house was evacuated and the occupants checked over by medics. Possible false alarm.

    A person on the 300 block of Chestnut Street called for medical help at 6:41 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 300 block of East Main Street called for medical help at 8:34 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 300 block of West State Street called for medical help at 9:14 a.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Police responded at 5:29 p.m. to a report of excessive noise from an apartment on the 300 block of South Elm Street. One of the people at the apartment was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

    Tuesday, March 28

    A person on the 100 block of South Cedar Street called for medical help at 3:58 a.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Police checked the 100 block of East Main Street at 1:26 p.m. looking for a woman wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. They found the woman and took her into custody.

    A person on the 200 block of South Ash Street reported at 1:54 p.m. a dog bite. Police are investigating the incident.

    A person on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 5:13 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Wednesday, March 29

    At 2:42 p.m., a person on the 1000 block of West Main Street called for medical help. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 7:25 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Thursday, March 30

    At 6:28 a.m., a person on the 600 block of East Forest Street called for medical help. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 700 block of East State Street reported at 7:12 p.m. a case of fraud. Police are investigating.

    Friday, March 31

    A person on the 800 block of West Prairie Street called for medical help at 12:02 a.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Police received a report at 8:34 p.m. from Shakopee police of a fraud case that occurred in Belle Plaine. A woman’s roommate used her identification to make some purchases. Police are investigating.

    Police took a report at the station at 2:21 p.m. of a possible case of property damage connected to a previous incident. They are investigating.

    Saturday, April 1

    A vehicle was stopped at 2:09 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 169 and East Main Street. All three occupants – a woman from New Hope, 33; a man from Minneapolis, 25; and a man from Illinois, 26 – were cited for possession of small amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver, the man from Illinois, was also cited for driving without a Minnesota license and other violations.

    Police found at 3:45 a.m. an inebriated man sleeping in the hallway of an apartment on the 100 block of North Meridian Street. They gave him a ride home.

    A person on the 600 block of East Church Street called for medical help at 9:06 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A boy, 17, was stopped near the intersection of North Cedar and East Court streets and cited at 7:07 p.m. for driving an all-terrain vehicle on city streets. Having been warned of the violation before, he was cited for driving after license revocation and driving an ATV on city streets.

    A person on the 1000 block of Lacy Lane called for medical help at 11:19 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 800 block of West Prairie Street called for medical help at 11:10 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    A person stopped by the police station at 8:35 a.m. to report a possible case of identity theft. Police are investigating.

    A person on the 1000 block of Creekview Lane called at 1:50 p.m. for medical help. A woman was checked over by the ambulance crew.

    A person on the 100 block of South Meridian Street reported at 6:25 p.m. an assault. A Chaska man was arrested for violating a court-issued no-contact order, burglary and property damage.

    A property-damage crash on the 600 block of West Main Street was reported at 7:31 p.m. A Belle Plaine girl, 16, was cited for failing to drive to drive with due care.

    Thursday, March 23

    A person on the 700 block of Shannon Lane called for medical help at 1:20 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    A man on the 800 block of Prairie Street East at 8:40 p.m. reported a case of property damage. After work, he found a window on his car smashed. Police are investigating.

    Friday, March 24

    A woman near the intersection of State Street West and West Street North reported at 6:33 a.m. a hit-and-run crash. She found her car had been hit and the side mirror smashed.

    Saturday, March 25

    A person on the 900 block of West Main Street called for medical help at 10:05 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Sunday, March 26

    A Belle Plaine woman, 25, was stopped near the intersection of East Main Street and Hickory Boulevard at 2:27 a.m. She was cited for three moving violations and arrested for third-degree DWI.

    The week of March 13-19, Belle Plaine police responded to the following selected calls:

     

    Monday, March 13

    Two vehicles parked on the 900 block of Scott Lane received snowbird citations at 12:03 a.m.

    A woman on the 100 block of West Main Street was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:17 p.m. after she called Scott County dispatch to report a traffic complaint. The woman used indecent language and crude name-calling throughout the phone call.

    A vehicle was stopped at 3:18 p.m. on the 1000 block of East Enterprise Drive for an equipment violation. The driver, a 29-year-old Montgomery, Minn. man was cited for driving after license revocation.

    At 5:39 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for equipment violations. The driver, a 38-year-old Elysian, Minn. man was cited for driving with a cancelled license. The woman who owned the car was warned for allowing an illegal driver to be driving.

    Tuesday, March 14

    A patrol officer attempted to pull a vehicle over for a speeding violation at 10:47 p.m. on the 200 block of East Orchard Street. When the driver pulled over, the occupants ran away. Police are investigating.

    Thursday, March 16

    A person on the 600 block of West Main Street called for medical help at 8:13 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 600 block of East South Street called for medical help at 3:01 p.m. A Belle Plaine man, 21, was jailed for domestic assault.

    Friday, March 17

    A person on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 8:10 a.m. Medics determined a person had passed away during the night.

    A person in need of medical attention stopped at the police station on East Main Street at 10:16 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A man in need of medical attention stopped at the police station on East Main Street at 2:48 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    An officer was assisting another agency with a family check at a house on the 300 block of North Chestnut Street at 3:12 p.m. The officer smelled marijuana in the house. The occupants allowed a search. Drugs and paraphernalia were located. A Belle Plaine man, 35, was cited for possession of both marijuana and paraphernalia.

    A person at a business on the 1000 block of East Enterprise Drive reported the theft of liquor at 5:16 p.m. A Shakopee man, 41, was cited for the offense and issued a no-trespassing warning.

    A vehicle was stopped near the intersection of East Main and North Chestnut streets at 11:53 p.m. for driving without headlights. The driver, a Jordan boy, 17, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and curfew violations.

    Saturday, March 18

    A Belle Plaine man, 23, was stopped at 12:27 a.m. near the intersection of Hickory Boulevard and East Enterprise Drive for failing to signal a lane change. He was arrested on an outstanding Scott County arrest warrant.

    A St. Louis Park man, 30, was stopped at 2:27 a.m. near the intersection of Main and Walnut streets for a stop sign violation. He was also cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and arrested for fourth-degree DWI.

    A property-damage crash on the 100 block of North Aspen Lane was reported at 10 a.m.

    Police cited a Belle Plaine man, 37, on the 100 block of South Meridian Street at 9:15 p.m. for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was jailed on an outstanding arrest warrant.

    Police cited two 28-year-old men – one from Belle Plaine, the other from Jordan – near the intersection of Main and Meridian streets at 10:30 p.m. after watching them get into a vehicle with open bottles.

    Property damage at an establishment near the intersection of Main and Meridian streets was reported at 11:29 p.m.

    At 11:57 p.m., a woman and two men on the 900 block of South Walnut Street were cited for underage consumption.

    Sunday, March 19

    A vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Main and Walnut streets at 12:09 a.m. The driver was warned for speeding and a stop sign violation. His passenger, a Shakopee woman, 22, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

    Police observed a Shakopee man, 53, leaving an establishment near the intersection of Main and Meridian streets at 12:21 a.m. with a drink in hand. He was asked several times to return to the bar to finish his drink. He tried to finish it on the sidewalk until the officer finally cited him for drinking on public streets.

    A domestic dispute on the 300 block of East Enterprise Drive was reported at 12:56 a.m. A woman from Hamburg, Minn., 29, was jailed for domestic assault.

    A Shakopee woman, 22, was found sleeping in her vehicle near the intersection of West Main and North Willow streets. The vehicle was running. She was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and arrested for fourth-degree DWI.

    A business owner reported at 1:13 p.m. finding what he thought might be drugs on the curb alongside of his property. Police destroyed the items.

    Monday, March 13

    Firefighters were dispatched at 10 a.m. to a house fire on 306th Street in Derrynane Township. 

    Friday, March 17

    Firefighters responded to a call for medical help from a person on the 200 block of West State Street. Medics determined a person had passed away during the night.

    At 9:45 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of a gas leak on the 200 block of West State Street. Residents remained in the building. Firefighters recommended the property manager seek service from CenterPoint Energy.

    Firefighters responded at 11:20 a.m. to a report of a house fire on the 100 block of South Willow Street. Someone burned food. Firefighters helped ventilate the house.

    Monday, March 6

    An officer took at 1:02 p.m. a report of property damage at a business on the 300 block of South Walnut Street. Someone tried to break in over the weekend. No entry was made but the lock needed to be repaired.

    Police were called at 5:32 p.m. to a disturbance on the 200 block of East Commerce Drive. One person was transported to an area hospital.

    Tuesday, March 7

    A person on the 200 block of West State Street called for medical help at 2:53 a.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Police are investigating the apparent theft of $21 worth of gasoline from a business on the 1000 block of East Enterprise Drive.

    Wednesday, March 8

    A person stopped by the police station at 9:01 a.m. to report an assault that occurred last October. Police are investigating.

    A person on the 300 block of East Orchard Street called for medical help at 1:23 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Thursday, March 9

    A person on the 100 block of East Main Street reported at 12:37 a.m. a man passed out on the sidewalk. The inebriated man was unable to take care of himself. He was transported to a detox facility.

    A person on the 800 block of West Prairie Street reported at 12:54 a.m. a theft. Police are investigating.

    At 10:04 a.m., a person on the 700 block of West Church Street reported a litterbug. The suspect was located, advised of city ordinance and picked up the garbage for appropriate disposal.

    An officer performed a welfare check at 11:03 a.m. on a person on the 500 block of Beaver Street. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Police executed a search warrant on the 100 block of South Meridian Street at 12:03 p.m. They located drugs and drug paraphernalia in the house. A woman, 25, and a man, 41, were formally charged with possession of a controlled substance.

    Police checked on a vehicle parked on the 300 block of West Beaver Street at 8:13 p.m. The people in the vehicle – a woman from Jordan, 19, and a woman from Cologne, 18 – were cited for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

    A person on the 1100 block of Farmers Lane called for medical help at 8:16 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Friday, March 10

    A person came to the police station at 8:21 a.m. to report a possible fraud.  He gave some of his bank information to a caller. Police advised the man to call his card company and bank.

    Saturday, March 11

    Police assisted Jordan police at 12:26 a.m. with a report of an armed person barricaded in a building. A woman was eventually arrested safely.

    A person on the 300 block of South Elm Street called for medical help at 2:52 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Sunday, March 12

    A person on the 200 block of South Meridian Street called for medical help at 12:21 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    An officer observed at 7:37 p.m. a woman walking down the middle of the 100 block of North Meridian Street during the snowfall. The person was hard to see. The officer advised the woman to get off the road to avoid being hit.

    Monday, Feb. 27

    A person on the 900 block of South Chestnut Street called for medical help at 10:01 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Officers assisted school staff on the 1100 block of West Commerce Drive at 12:42 p.m. by staying with a student that had caused a disturbance. They waited for the child’s parents to arrive.

    The driver of a vehicle stopped at 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Old Highway 169 Boulevard and East Main Street was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

    A person on the 400 block of South Chestnut Street reported at 4:22 p.m. a violation of a restraining order.

    A person on the 400 block of South Meridian Street called for medical help at 4:43 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Tuesday, Feb. 28

    A woman arrested for violating a restraining order on the 400 block of South Chestnut Street was also charged with fifth-degree drug possession. Drugs were found on her person when she was checked into the county jail at 1:46 p.m.

    Wednesday, March 1

    Police checked on a vehicle parked on private property near the intersection of West Church and North Meridian streets at 9:07 p.m. The driver of the vehicle was wanted on outstanding warrants.

    Thursday, March 2

    A person on the 900 block of South Cedar Street reported at 10:45 a.m. fraudulent use of a credit card after a trip to Texas. The completed report will be forwarded to the correct department in Texas.

    The driver of a vehicle, a 19-year-old Jordan man, was stopped at 3:29 p.m. near the intersection of East Prairie and South Ash streets. He was cited for driving after license revocation and possession of marijuana.

    Police were notified at 6:31 p.m. of three people in a vehicle parked on the 600 block of Elm Street with the windows down and loud music playing. The driver, a 20-year-old Belle Plaine man, was cited for possession of marijuana and arrested on outstanding warrants.

    Friday, March 3

    A person on the 1000 block of Prairie Oak Drive called for medical help at 5:13 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 1000 block of West State Street called for medical help at 2:23 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 800 block of East Main Street reported at 3:50 p.m. someone had tried to break into the building. Police found minor damage to the building door’s lock. Police are investigating.

    A vehicle was stopped near the intersection of East Main Street and Old Highway 169 Boulevard at 11:11 p.m. The driver, an 18-year-old Belle Plaine man, was cited for the equipment violation, possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol.

    Saturday, March 4

    A person on the 200 block of East Main Street called for medical help at 4:20 a.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 400 block of Century Street called for medical help at 9:10 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Sunday, March 5

    Officers were called at 12:41 a.m. because an inebriated man had left a downtown establishment and had not yet arrived home. He was located by police and turned over to the care of friends.

    The driver of a vehicle, a 25-year-old Shakopee woman, stopped near the intersection of East Main Street and Commerce Drive at 2:08 a.m. for a speeding violation was cited for speeding and arrested for fourth-degree DWI.

    A man was found passed out in the entrance to a building on the 800 block of West Main Street. The inebriated man was checked over by the ambulance crew and turned over to his family members for care.

    Firefighters responded at 8:30 a.m. to a report of a semi on fire near the intersection of Highway 169 and East Main Street. The fire was squelched and firefighters spent time cleaning up spilled fuel.

    A person on the 100 block of West Commerce Drive reported at 7:38 a.m. the theft of copper from a construction site. Someone broke into a secured area and stole $5,665 worth of material. Police are investigating.

    A person on the 900 block of State Street called for medical help at 4:19 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A man on the 100 block of Church Street reported at 8:01 p.m. the theft of his wallet from a truck.

    Tuesday, Feb. 7

    While investigating a theft report on the 300 block of South Willow Street at 10:42 a.m., police determined the suspect, a 19-year-old man, was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was taken into custody.

    Wednesday, Feb. 8

    A person on the 100 block of West Main Street called for medical help at 3:14 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    At 5:02 p.m., a person on the 800 block of Sunrise Lane reported a scam. The person paid a fraudulent bill over the phone and later realized it was a swindle. Police are investigating.

    A person on the 900 block of Cobblestone Lane called for medical help at 6:57 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    At 7:54 p.m., a person on the 300 block of South Elm Street called for medical help. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Thursday, Feb. 9

    A property owner on the 300 block of South Walnut Street reported at 10:10 a.m. tenants had damaged the property before moving out. The property owner wanted the issue documented and will handle it through the civil process.

    A Belle Plaine woman, 44, was stopped at 11:02 a.m. near the intersection of North Walnut and East Main streets. She was cited for failing to stop for a stop sign and driving without a license.

    Police assisted a woman parked in a vehicle on the 800 block of East State Street at 12:55 p.m. The woman was suffering a medical issue. She was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 500 block of East Church Street called for medical help at 2:33 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital.

    Friday, Feb. 10

    A property-damage crash on private property on the 600 block of West Main Street was reported at 1:10 p.m. While one vehicle was backing out of a parking space, the driver hit the second vehicle that was driving behind her, causing minor damage to the front end.

    Saturday, Feb. 11

    A person on the 500 block of North Chestnut Street reported a domestic disturbance at 12:55 a.m. A man, 35, was arrested for third-degree domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call.

    A person on the 300 block of North Chestnut Street called for medical help at 8:15 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    A person on the 300 block of East Orchard Street reported at 2:52 p.m. a case of fraud involving a Craigslist transaction. Police are investigating.

    A person on the 900 block of Deer Creek Parkway reported at 11:13 p.m. a possible violation of a court-issued order for protection. The county attorney’s office is reviewing the incident for possible criminal charges.

    Sunday, Feb. 12

    A person on the 500 block of Lindsey Lane called for medical help at 8:38 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital.

    Firefighters responded at 5:44 p.m. to a call for medical help from a person on the 600 block of East Forest Street. A woman was transported to an area hospital.
